Mining's Impact: A Community's Fight for Justice and the Future

A community's fight for survival against illegal mining intruders in Ghana. For over 40 years, a physically challenged man has lived peacefully with his wife and children on ancestral land that has sustained his family and community. Today, that same land faces a serious threat as illegal mining (galamsey) operators attempt to take over for destructive mining activities.

This powerful documentary captures the reality of community resistance, land rights struggles, environmental destruction, and the human cost of illegal mining in Ghana. It highlights the courage of ordinary people standing up to protect their homes, livelihoods, forests, water bodies, and future generations.

As illegal mining continues to threaten communities across Ghana, stories like this reveal the urgent need for environmental justice, responsible mining, and protection of vulnerable populations.
