A Rocha Ghana

A Rocha Ghana (ARG) highlights the vital link between humanity and the conservation of biodiversity. Their mission focuses on motivating individuals to safeguard nature through advocacy, sustainable resource management, and education. Their strategic goals include leveraging established technologies for conservation and improving institutional capabilities. They strongly emphasize collaboration with youth groups and oversee an extensive network of school programs to foster environmental stewardship and nurture future leaders in sustainability.

Currently, ARG operates in three regions of Ghana: the Savannah, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions. They also have initiatives in the Upper East and West regions, as well as projects in the Central and Volta Regions, where they play a significant role in protecting mangroves.

Nature & Development Foundation

NDF (Nature & Development Foundation) is a Ghana-based NGO focused on aligning human development with nature conservation in West Africa. It works with governments, communities, and industries to tackle issues like illegal logging, food security, and biodiversity loss, particularly in Ghana and Liberia. NDF promotes responsible forest management and aims to lead in natural resource management and rural governance. The organization envisions a future of harmonious coexistence between development and conservation, advocating for sustainable land use and biodiversity protection through scientific research and stakeholder engagement.

Wacam

Wacam is a leading Ghanaian NGO focused on human rights and environmental mining advocacy, established in 1998. It addresses social, environmental, and economic issues stemming from increased mining investments. Initially operating in eight communities, Wacam now engages with over ninety mining-affected communities. The organization emphasizes community mobilization, rights-based education, and legal advocacy to influence policy changes. Wacam also shares its experiences globally and participates in various organizations, including the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI).
